The dynamic Yiorgos Bereris Trio merges contemporary jazz improvisation with folk traditions from the Mediterranean, Balkans, and Greece. Led by pianist and composer Yiorgos Bereris, alongside longtime collaborators Lambros Papanikolaou (bass) and Ektoras Remsak (drums), the trio has developed a distinctive sound built on strong interaction and shared musical intuition. Their performances are both lyrical and explosive, guided by storytelling melodies that unfold into rich, intricate, and improvisational soundscapes.
Following Bereris’s previous albums, Laros (2023) and Sigá y Silente (2024), which explored intimate folk-inspired themes transformed into expressive, improvisational music, the trio is currently preparing a new album set for release in Spring 2026.
As a trio, they have performed at prominent festivals and venues including the Athens Jazz Festival (GR), Nišville Jazz Festival (Serbia), Roode Bioscoop (NL), and Filippou Café (Greece).
Beyond the trio, Bereris has performed extensively as a sideman across Europe and the U.S., appearing at renowned stages such as the Greek National Opera (GR), Grachtenfestival (NL), Vortex Jazz Club (UK), Jamboree (ES), Boston Conservatory Theater (US), and Thessaloniki Concert Hall (GR).
