Blending the Nordic jazz aesthetic with the rhythmic pulse of Cuban Son and the expressive depth of Balkan brass traditions, pianist and composer Yiorgos Bereris leads a trio that bridges cultures through dynamic interplay, improvisation, and lyrical storytelling. Based in Rotterdam, Bereris collaborates with two exceptional musicians: Lambros Papanikolaou on double bass and Hektor Remsak on drums. Together, they craft a compelling sound where contemporary jazz meets folk traditions and global influences.

Influenced by the legendary Greek Fusion Orchestra of Kyriakos Sfetsas—where he was a core member during its revival from 2018 to 2020—and shaped by Rotterdam’s vibrant international jazz scene, Bereris has developed a distinctive pianistic voice. His playing echoes the phrasing of Middle Eastern kanun and wind players, while remaining deeply grounded in the harmonic sophistication of modern jazz.

Bereris has presented his work, including his personal albums Laros (2023) and Siga y Silente (2024), at prestigious venues and festivals across Europe, such as the Athens Jazz Festival (Greece), Culture Unlimited Festival (Netherlands), Classijazz (Spain), and Mezrab (Netherlands), among others.
